There are some problems in the operation of distance protection, such as bad operation and maintenance, design, manufacture and the principle defect of the device, etc. . When the single-phase through-wall bushing breaks down and develops into a three-phase fault, due to the misplacing of the fixed value position of the distance protection section I, the whole substation will be stopped by jumping the adjacent lines. During by-pass operation, the three-phase voltage is unbalanced due to the earthing of the open damping resistance of the TV, which causes the misoperation of the distance protection outlet. Due to poor insulation, the two coils of the relay QHJ were short-circuited, which caused the misoperation of the inter-phase I section of distance protection. Misoperation of distance protection is caused by poor insulation of miniature intermediate relay. The circuit breaker was tripped due to the grounding of the TJR terminal in the operation box. DUE TO TA polarity reverse connection, misoperation of distance protection is caused when single-phase-to-ground fault occurs on transmission line.
